411 ......looking back

YoYo

Its 3.36 ET on a Thursday, I am home because my boss sent us that way after a power outage stuck the facility and a transformer caught fire. With nothing to do I thought I will read Gundyas blog, turns out I started reading his earlier ones esp the one on 411.Made me emotional.

This is so freakin depressing. Just a couple of daya ago Guru sent an email saying how he missed 411. I dont know what happens with other grad students who stay together. What I can say with certainity is that all the 411 ites miss 411. A good 9 months after we all split, we still hang onto those memories, of friends and times, of beers and parties, of cooking diasasters and grand arguements on cricket and politics, desperately hoping those times will return when we know they wont.

411 was many things to many people. For Bhosu,Joshya and Nerlya it was evening cha adda.Watch Fox Sports soccer news, have chaha, sometimes dinner and enjoy the evening. For Phatak it was like a spiritual home (He once said that to me !). I was as confused as anything considering that 411 was less spiritual and more inclined to "wahayat and dangat pora"type activities. Of course ganapati basawla hota pan,,,,For Gulve, it used to be a weekend timepass when we cooked bhajis and puliyogaras on a major scale or played patte esp after Vball session. For sime it was a "assignments karun milteel center" as folks used Satyas and Pappans expertise to help in HW.

For us (Myself,Pappan,Gundya,Guru,Monty,Satya and Manya and Mama and Balu ) it was home in the real sense. Its the place we wanted to be and looked to go each time we had some small window of opportunity. When I see my other buddies spend night after night in school I feel sad and imagine how misearable it must be to be in school at odd hours not because of too much work load but because there was nothing else to do.
Well, I miss home

One more thing, Pl elabotare more on Phatak saying "it was like a spiritual home". It confuses me more than anything else. Where did he find spirituality in the madness at 411:)

Ever since you mentioned about your blog on miltonkatta, i have been following all your blogs, wondering if i could ever start one. Not that i dont have time to write blogs, but it sure needs a flair, presence of mind and ability to perceive one's own true feelings. Penning down what you truly feel in the just way, is a task, not so easy. Keep it up!!
A short stay though, but filled with good memories!!, was definitely a home for me.
To Khare: "Doing what you like is freedom, liking what you do is happiness". With all the 411 members and myself smiling, giggling and laughing all the time, happiness was bound to be there. I consider happiness an integral part of religion, and that's why definitely a spiritual home.
