Back after an awfully long time. Life at the moment seems to be whizzing past me at breakneck speed. Ever since I started my contract position things have changed for the better.First came the job, then the admit from Keck Graduate Institute for the Master of Bioscience Program and then came the Big one...2 shorts from Champion Sports along with a supply of Kesharratna Supari. Arrite ..just kidding.
But seriously when I think about whats happened in the last few months I realise that my life is taking turns, slow and steady and in the positive direction. I had been warned by all and sundry that getting a job after graduation is hard work and needs a combination of luck and persistence. I do not know whether I am lacking in the former or the later or what else is missing but now I know fully comprehend what they meant.
A fair amount of uncertainity seems to dominate my everyday life these days.In matters of job search I have had only partial success. My current position is a project to project assignment and hence unreliable as a means of employment.I came close to almost getting thro with a Boston based Biomedical Co before they rejected me due to an imperfect match of skills. A perfect case of a slip between the cup and the lip. Had numerous other leads but they remained just that. Even with the Keck thing the crucial aspect of finances still need to be worked out. Whether I go to the program or not what gave me immense satisfaction was that I got thro the admission in the first place. Its a confidence booster for sure when you realise that qualified and educated people on the admissions committee think you to be competent enough to get into one of the best Bioscience pgms in the US.
And so the next few months will unfold and I will chart my course. Will it be the Keck school that Alan Carsrud so desperately wants me to go to ? Or will it be a job and H1 and the realisation of the Great Indian Middle Class Dream? I have no answers.........
